The Bulldog x Dadara

Some collaborations aren’t born from strategy or planning, but from pure instinct. The same goes for the story between The Bulldog and artist Dadara — a story that began three decades ago, grew from admiration and creativity, and now, exactly 25 years after our first joint creation, comes back to life. What started as a spontaneous idea has evolved into a special limited edition that bridges past and future.

From Beer Coaster to Anniversary Box: The Evolution of The Bulldog × Dadara

The First Encounter and Collaboration

It all began around 30 years ago. Henk de Vries, owner of The Bulldog, discovered the work of artist Dadara and was immediately captivated. For his private collection, he acquired several pieces that proudly hung in his home.

In the year 2000, the idea arose to join forces and create something together. After a brainstorming session, the custom-made beer coaster was born, a piece that sat on the bar in our locations. The design was created by none other than Dadara, made specifically for The Bulldog. The coaster became a collector’s item, a statement piece, and many of our loyal fans still own one to this day. Dadara also designed the invitation for our anniversary at the time. It marked the beginning of a special collaboration.

A Connection That Endured

Time passed, and professionally not much happened. But privately, Henk and the family remained great admirers of Dadara’s work, and the connection continued naturally.

The Idea for a New Collaboration

During a brainstorming session for planning The Bulldog’s upcoming 50th anniversary, the idea emerged to release a special limited edition 420 Gear collection. It was Henk who suggested: why not collaborate with an artist again? It was a spontaneous thought, and the name Dadara resurfaced without realizing it had been exactly 25 years since the first collaboration began.

At The Bulldog, things often happen based on instinct and spontaneity rather than strict planning. So when we later discovered that Dadara had created the artwork for our 25th anniversary, we had to work with him again for our 50th anniversary. It felt like something that was simply meant to be.

The Creative Process

Dadara was called, and the collaboration was confirmed. His creative process began, and for us, the process of defining exactly what this partnership would look like started as well. Naturally, a beer coaster had to be created, a special nod to a quarter-century ago. It symbolizes how far we’ve come and how close we still remain to the same people as back then.

The Anniversary Box

Alongside the coaster, a complete box was designed, filled with 420 Gear items: all created by Dadara himself. The box is fully customized with his stunning artwork. It’s a piece made exclusively for The Bulldog, yet unmistakably in his signature style: bold, unconventional, and full of mindfucks. That’s how we would best describe his work. A unique and distinctive style, combined with the colors and elements that define The Bulldog.

A Work of Art in Itself

The box itself is a statement piece — a work of art you’ll want to display. It’s a true eye-catcher. Each product is special and almost too beautiful to use. These are artworks you rarely encounter in the world of cannabis-related products. We also chose high-quality items throughout.

The anniversary box is a tribute to our 50-year history, but also a reflection on the past. It’s a limited edition piece: one that will not return once the stock is gone. That’s what makes it so special. It’s a collector’s item for loyal fans of The Bulldog, admirers of Dadara’s art, and people who value unique, meaningful pieces.

Proud of the Result

We are incredibly honored to collaborate with Dadara and extremely proud of the products we’ve created together. We look forward to the future, who knows, perhaps we’ll reunite for our 75th anniversary and join forces once again. Nothing is certain, but time will tell.
